Frequently Asked Questions
When should I call ?
When private or public property is compromised by exposed blood, bodily fluids, bone and tissue.
Call us immediately after contacting the police. Bio-Haz maintains a 24/7 Emergency Hot Line: 1-800-516-5080, we will dispatch a mobile response team and be at the site within a few hours or less; depending on your location.
How soon do you begin ?
Your safety and health is our first concern, therefore we will begin remediation immediately after; a site inspection to assess your needs and a biohazard safety plan is properly arranged.
Can anyone cleanup ?
Absolutely not! Only experienced certified Bio-Haz crime scene technicians should perform Crime Scene/Trauma Cleanup and decontamination services. Strict Laws mandate the removal, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Are death and trauma areas dangerous ?
YES! Every trauma site where death or injury has occurred, proposes a threat to good health. Blood, bodily fluids and tissue may contain pathogens known to cause infection and disease; (HIV-1, Hepatitis-B, Tuberculosis, H1N1, Staph, MRSA, and more.) Also, investigators, in the course of their job, use fingerprint dust; this is a chemical, and needs to be removed and disposed of properly. Every person who comes in contact with the trauma area needs to wear protective covering.
What will this cost ?
Insurance companies know the importance of our services. Therefore, in most cases, homeowners, renters, and business policies cover the entire cost. You would only be responsible for the deductible.
Can I get a phone quote ?
It is virtually impossible and would not be fair to give a quote over the phone. Property damage and contamination is not always visible to the naked eye; a small spot on a carpet can penetrate the padding and saturate floor boards. We will need to conduct an inspection of the trauma area to accurately determine the damage and prepare the remediation plan.
